This 8-hour EM 385-1-1 course is based on the 2024 USACE Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) Requirements manual. It will provide the information you need to stay up to date on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) training standards. This course is designed for Site Safety Health Officers (SSHOs) who need to fill the annual training requirement. It is also intended for anyone who needs a refresher on the essential elements of the manual.

Course Objectives

  • Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) forms and their development.
  • Site personnel training, incident response and reporting procedures, jobsite auditing, and hazard communication.

  4. Describe the proper methods for protection during excavation and trenching activities.
